Tax planning

Tax planning has become very important for the citizens of the United Kingdom as Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) continue to be on the lookout for individuals or companies whose tax avoidance measures, they deem to be on the border of tax evasion.

We, in the industry and you, as consumers, are continually bombarded with new fangled tax ruses and schemes that purport to do many things but sometimes simply land people in a mess with the authorities!

Pensions

Tax efficient solutions

It is vital that, when considering any kind of tax planning, this is done with the greatest of care and, by and large, in cooperation with your local inspector of taxes. We have over twenty five years experience of dealing with such matters, whether it be Inheritance Tax (IHT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT) or more mundane matters such as Corporation Tax or Income Tax. The schemes and solutions on which we advise are regulated and approved and should not incur the wrath of HMRC.

Tax planning should be aligned with succession planning and potentially the use of Trusts. We will as a matter of course when advising on matters of this kind, liaise with clients' legal representatives to ensure that, once the tax planning is in place, it is not wasted or neutralised by bad Wills or not utilising Trusts where it is advisable to do so.
